Stable Equestrian rider – Lisa Smith

Hello everyone!!

I own Guildhouse Sports horses which primarily re-trains ex racers straight off the track into eventing where they are produced and sold into eventing homes. I am based in Scotland and like my fellow ambassador I am also rapidly rising towards 40! (still a few years to go yet though!).

We currenty have in some three year old ex racers that will be broken later this year and will hopefully run as 4yo’s and may qualify for the Young Horse Championships at Osberton International as did Thief of Hearts last year after winning Dalkeith 4yo qualifier!. Burghley young event Horse could also be on the cards for some of those as well but for now they will go and be horses in a field and have a play time after their racing careers.

Thief of hearts will have a quieter year and really my ultimate aim for her would be to go to Le Lion in France next year. This year our focus is on Zak aka Cloudings Dream where the aim is get to One Star.

Generally my day consists of trying to stay in one piece and get the dressage looking a little more like it should and just getting from one side of a show-jump to the other and staying on board and keeping the pole up!

Cross Country is the fun part and I guess why most of us become Eventers!

I also own Stable Equestrian and enjoy being able to get the products that work out to everyone and let them know our top tips and tricks!

So I hope you enjoy our site, blogs and articles and please feel free to come say hello if you see us out and about!
